…anyone who comes to him[God] must believe…that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. –Hebrews 11:6 NIV
What’s the purpose of seeking God but not believing that He’ll reward you? You pray and hope for a miracle, but don’t actually believe it will happen. If faith is being sure of what you hope for, but you’re afraid to get your hopes up, then you aren’t attaching faith to your seeking, which is often the reason you don’t see results (Hebrews 11:1).In The Never Ending Story, Atreyu had to pass through the Sphinx gate. Anyone who did not realize (or doubted) his own self-worth would be killed. As you watch the movie, you can see the moment that Atreyu begins to doubt. It’s at that same moment when both the gnome and the boy reading the story begin to shout, “Be confident! Be confident!”God’s cheering you on in much the same way. He wants you to be confident that He’ll hear and answer your prayers when you seek Him. He wants you to “approach the throne of grace with confidence” (Hebrews 4:16). He cheers you on and encourages you to ask Him. Don’t listen to the lies and whispers of doubt; don’t let them creep into your head. Instead, “Be confident!”
Ask the Holy Spirit to encourage you to be confident.
Pray for opportunities to encourage others to be confident.
