Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. –Psalm 105:4 NIV
Have you ever tried to carry on a conversation with someone who was totally distracted and appeared not to be paying attention? There are times when we want to share a meaningful moment with someone yet can feel totally dismissed by their body language and their failure to engage. Simple communication, or lack thereof, is often high on the list of marital discord. Sometimes a child will even grab the sides of their parent’s face with their little hands to get their undivided attention. It makes you wonder how God feels when He wants to speak to us. He sees when we are distracted with social media or just the daily activities that we cram into each day. First Peter 2:2 (NIV) says, “Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.” He wants to share intimate conversations with you. God wants us to press in, sit in His presence, and experience His Holy Spirit. It’s in these quiet times that we can know He is listening and is never distracted. He will never leave us feeling dissed, dismissed, or distraught. Give Him your undivided attention today.
Thank You, Lord, that time and space are not barriers in Your ability to communicate with me.
Lord, You know my deepest thoughts. Help me to know Yours. Help me to trust that when I pursue You, You will never disappoint me.
