Webster’s dictionary defines trust as “reliance on the character, ability, strength, or truth of someone or something.” Many place their trust in volatile things such as the stock market. Today, we’re up; tomorrow, we’re down, and in between those times—we worry. We trust in the price of crude oil, gold, or silver; the list is endless. But, in each case, the reliability is never secure. 

Here is a different definition of trust:
T-total
R-reliance
U-under
S-stressful
T-times

Trust issues are most evident during times of testing and trials. It’s easy to trust when everything is going our way, but what about those times when a problem remains unresolved, or the situation looks impossible? At such times, we discover just how much trust we truly have. God’s Word tells us to trust in the Lord with all of our hearts and to not lean on our own understanding. Stressful times will come and go, but we do not have to be shaken. Through our God, we can fight valiantly, and when the battle is over, we shall celebrate the victory.
