He Will Hear You

Then You will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. –Jeremiah 29:12 NIV

Jesus said, “In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33 NIV). When troubles arise, how do we react? Sometimes, situations unfold so unexpectedly that we have no time to prepare our hearts. The sudden death of a loved one or a distressing medical diagnosis can be devastating. We cannot foresee the troubles that will come. Regardless of what the future holds, our hope is in the Lord, King Jesus. He is the One we can turn to in times of trouble. Always available, there's no need for booking an appointment or asking for permission. We need not wait to be summoned; we can simply come because we are the children of the Most High God! In our time of need, He encourages us to call upon Him and to pray. He promises to listen. The Old Testament prophets understood this well. “But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me” (Micah 7:7 NIV). “Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid” (Isaiah 12:2 NIV). So, do not succumb to the spirit of fear and defeat! Be confident in our Savior, for He is faithful. He will hear you with a tender heart and walk with you through every storm of life.

Lord, give me a heart that will seek You and trust You in every circumstance in my life.

Holy Spirit, give me the power to stay focused on You alone, and not my troubles.
