Love Always Finds a Way

It [Love] always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails…. –1 Corinthians 13:7-8 NIV

Imagine if you could trade places with someone for one day. You would look like them, think like them, and feel like them; yet inside, you would still be you. The only restriction to whom you could trade places with is that it has to be that person that gets on your last nerve and whom you avoid. Why do this? Because if we actually understand why people act like they do and how their behavior often masks their insecurities, maybe we’d get along better with them. We can’t walk a mile in their shoes if we don’t have the desire to even try. Just maybe that person that aggravates you is there for a reason. Maybe God put them in your life so that you could show them love and be a caring person in their life. Or perhaps there’s something you need to learn about yourself that will help you love others, and you will only learn through your interactions with that person. Let us love like 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 (NIV) says, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.” It just might take a thorn in the flesh to accomplish it, but love always finds a way.
