Galatians 5:22-23; Proverbs 21:17; Matthew 18:19-20
As we journey through life as members of the church community, it is a beautiful opportunity for us to reflect upon a profound question: Can others see Jesus in us? The idea goes beyond physical characteristics and encompasses the qualities and attributes that we learn and share from our savior. When others observe our lives, values and choices they should recognize a familiar likeness and regard us as members of their spiritual family. It is our heartfelt desire that they are naturally drawn into closer fellowship with JESUS, inspired by the Christ-like qualities they perceive in our lives. Let us humbly consider the characteristics of the Lord's loving personality that others are able to witness in us. Are we known for our humility, sincerity, and honesty? Are our actions consistently rooted in courtesy, forgiveness, and generosity? These are meaningful questions that invite us to unfold the depths of our hearts as we desire to become more like Christ to the world around us. The fruits of the Spirit that Paul guides us to in Galatians 5 include love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Can these fruits flourish and blossom within our lives? Absolutely! Just keep growing closer to Jesus and not compare ourselves to anyone else but aim to respond the way He would: with grace and assuming the best in challenging situations. And what would happen if we extended kindness, investing the time to truly know and understand others? In doing so, we reveal the “Christ in me!” As we ponder these thoughts, let's take some time in humble self-reflection, inviting the guidance of the Holy Spirit. When people encounter us, may they encounter Him.
In what specific ways can I practice the fruits of the Spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control – in my relationships? How can I respond to challenging situations with grace, assume the best in others, and invest time in understanding their hearts?
Lord Jesus, My heart longs for others to witness the radiant reflection of Your love in and through my life. I wholeheartedly strive to embody Your grace, compassion, and mercy. May our actions, words, and attitudes echo the presence of Jesus in our lives. Let the light of Your transformative love illuminate my very being, drawing others towards the extraordinary beauty of His love. In all things, my deepest desire is to bring glory to you Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen
