What's Your Plot?

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. –Hebrews 12:2 NKJV

Every Friday, after lunch, the teacher would read to the class a chapter of the mystery series The Hardy Boys. The students loved the way each chapter left them hanging until the next.

Life is like a good mystery, with lots of twists, turns, unexpected plot changes, and surprises. But, by the end of the book, all the questions are answered, the mysteries are solved, and the difference between bad and good is determined. The reader is left with satisfaction in the outcome because he knows that truth prevailed. Everything that didn’t seem related came together to finally make sense. No detail was too small or insignificant to matter. If life doesn’t make sense today, just wait, another chapter is coming.

The author of The Hardy Boys knew his stuff, but the Author of Life REALLY knows His stuff. You’re not a mistake, for you were carefully planned. Without you, the story is flat. You’re the twist no one saw coming; you’re the cliffhanger. You are a bestseller!

prayer focuses

Pray for eyes to see the big picture. The last chapter of your life hasn’t been written yet.

You may not understand now, but one day, life will all make sense. Ask God to help you to trust Him through all the plot twists happening in your life.
