It’s the same with you. When you’ve done everything expected of you, be matter-of-fact and say, “The work is done. What we were told to do, we did.” –Luke 17:10 MSG
When we were younger, we were expected to do what we were told to do by our parents or guardians. Life hasn’t changed much in this regard as we’ve grown older. We are still expected to do what we are told by those in authority over us. We must always remember that the ultimate authority is God. When we read His Word, the Bible, we learn what He expects of us. The Word provides messages to each of us from the Lord, revealing truths about life as it guides us along the path to our eternal home. In His Word, Jesus explained that we will have troubles. But He promised to help us through every difficulty. “I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world, you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world” (John 16:33 MSG). Let us trust Him and walk in obedience to all that the Lord is directing us to do through His Word.
Pray that the Lord will reveal to you areas of your life where you are walking in disobedience.
Ask the Lord for the strength to do what is right in each decision you must make today.
