For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. –Isaiah 41:13 NIV
“Why” am I suffering? “Why” me? “Why” did it happen in this way? These are questions that are real, and we have all asked at one time or another. We live in a world of good and evil. This is a reality. As hard as it is to understand at times, we are not immune—pain and loss happen to everyone. God is with us in our suffering. He does care; not just because He is God, but because He cares about every detail in our lives. He sees our hearts in times of pain and listens to our questions—they are important to Him. We have a Father who will help us—upholding us with His righteous right hand. God’s ways are not our ways, but He will stay by our side through every trial we face. He sees and knows it all. We don’t have to understand the “why” on this side of Heaven. We will never understand “why,” and we probably wouldn’t be satisfied with the answers anyway without seeing it from God’s perspective. Even if there are no answers in our lifetime, when we see Jesus, it will all make sense for all eternity.
I know You are with me even when I don’t understand the why. Please help me, Lord.
Please give me increasing faith to get through the difficult times in my life.
