Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. –1 John 4:7-8 NKJV
If you listen long enough to the voices telling you who you should be, you grow deaf to the beauty of who you are in Christ. Your identity, security, and acceptability come from how God created you—not from how you feel!
Know this—the serpent, the enemy of your soul, tries to isolate you so that you feel alone and on trial. This “prosecutor” strives to make your life one trial after another so that you feel condemned. He poisons you endlessly, convicting you with lies. But you must remember that you are God’s beloved. Writer Ann Voskamp said, “Isn’t the fear that you are not enough really the lie that God isn’t enough?” In truth, God is more than enough.
You are loved by almighty God and redeemed through the perfect sacrifice of His Son, Jesus, on the Cross. Knowing this truth sets you free and allows God’s perfect love to flow into your heart where the Holy Spirit dwells and guides you through this life.
Thank God that He has adopted you as His loving child.
Ask Holy Spirit to help you live a life filled with love, following Christ’s example.
