But This Kind

However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting. –Matthew 17:21 NKJV

In Matthew 17:14-21 (NKJV), Jesus’ disciples were unable to heal a demon-possessed child. So the concerned father brought his son to Jesus. When Jesus rebuked the demon from the boy, the child immediately became well. Afterward, the disciples asked Jesus, “Why couldn’t we cast out that demon?” Jesus explained that they didn’t have enough faith. He told them, “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Is there something in your life that’s been dominating you? No matter how much you pray or what you do, you can’t get loose. Like a stain on a carpet that needs a chemical solution to dissolve and lift it from the fibers, some stubborn addictions, unruly spirits, and generational curses can only be demolished through the method Jesus stated. At times of intense spiritual warfare that you or your loved ones face, the key to victory could be through faith-filled prayer and fasting.

Praise God for the victories that He has already given to you through faith and obedience to His Word.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you to pray and fast so you can boot the enemy from your life and gain new territory with the Lord.
