Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind... –Romans 12:2 NIV
Have you ever considered whether or not your walk is consistent with God’s Word? The values that are in your soul are revealed in the hundreds of choices you make every day.
How you interact with your annoying co-worker, what you say on social media, how you fill out your tax return, and how you complete tedious jobs are all clear indications of to whom or what your mind is conformed, revealing clearly whether you are shaped by the world or transformed by the Word.
If you find that you are conformed to the pattern of this world, how can you renew your mind? Of course, you need to pray. And yes, you need to seek God. It is possible to know how to move forward in a situation even when you don’t hear clear answers. In such times, you can still make wise choices based on what you know about God, what you’ve read in His Word, and how He’s acted in the past. As your mind is renewed with these truths, you will confidently be “…able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2 NIV).
God, help me be changed by the truth of Your Word so that I can confidently walk in righteousness.
Jesus, help me to keep my eyes focused on You as I move through the day.
