The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. –Psalm 34:18 NLT
In life, disappointments are unavoidable. We cannot escape them. Sometimes, the biggest disappointment can come from our families. Those we love the most can hurt us the deepest. Their words can be empty and hurtful, and we may not even understand the intent. They may seem judgmental and unforgiving. Ultimately, family is important, and we never want to have division. However, this is not a perfect world. When we get hurt, we may want to reach out and seek clarification regarding the offense. But the good intent may not be received as such. It is important that we not shut down and let the offense control us. Place the rejection and hurt in God’s hands. Let Him work it out, one day at a time. Jesus understands every struggle we go through. He sees every painful moment that takes place in our lives. God knows we are not able to always humanly understand how people think and how they will react to a circumstance. We can’t see the final outcome, but God can. He can restore what is broken. Don’t let Satan win—he really wants to destroy families. Yet families matter to God, and He is right there beside us when we go through the fire.
Come to Jesus Christ with your disappointments, trusting Him to meet your needs.
Disappointment is part of being human, but prayer can change the outcome.
