…But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead… –Philippians 3:13 NIV
Are you tired of working hard with what seems like little return? Have months of struggle brought only frustration, fear, and discouragement? Or perhaps the remnants of harmful habits, behaviors, and attitudes have smothered your joy and stunted your growth. Maybe, right about now, a “do over” sounds pretty attractive. If so, there’s good news! It doesn’t matter how old you are, how long you’ve been struggling, or what state your life is in. The promise of Scripture is that you can make a fresh start! God’s mercies “are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:23 NIV).When you finally get to the point of frustration and exhaustion, you don’t have to give up. Let your repentant heart cry out for mercy, forgiveness, and restoration. Trust the words of Jesus who declares, “…whoever comes to me I will never drive away” (John 6:37 NIV).Working towards restoration is difficult, requiring diligence and commitment. But no matter how challenging it is, when you give yourself to the care of Jesus, you can trust that revival is coming. He will sow a field of righteousness that will produce a harvest more bountiful than you can imagine.
Jesus, I am tired.
I am weary. Revive me through Your Spirit. I wait for You. Amen. God, You are more than enough for all that I face today. Help me rely on Your strength, trusting the harvest to Your hands.
