Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. –Romans 12:2 NLT
When Jesus was young, the Bible says, “Jesus grew in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and all the people” (Luke 2:52 NLT). Years later, around the age of thirty, Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. When He came up from the water, a voice from Heaven said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17 NKJV). From that day on, Jesus’ public ministry began. The day you accepted Jesus Christ, you were adopted into God’s family. As a result, God distinguishes you as His beloved one, whom He loves and cherishes. From the onset of your new birth in Christ, the Holy Spirit began transforming you into the person God destined you to become. It’s a holy inner work that continues throughout your lifetime. God’s primary mission is for you to know Him more fully and obey His word. It’s His joy to witness you grow, mature, and be refashioned into His image. As you permit God to transform you inwardly—by changing the way you think, how you respond to others, and living a godly lifestyle—you come to learn more clearly His good and pleasing and perfect will as God’s beloved one.
Let God know how thankful you are that you’ve been adopted into His family and that He sees you as one of His beloved ones.
Pray that the Holy Spirit will help you grow in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and all people.
