We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God… –Hebrews 6:18-19 MSG

Swirling, pulling, dragging you down, the waves are churning all around. Fear and anxiety bind you as you’re dragged down in a whirlpool of worry. “I have taken my eyes off of Jesus,” you realize. “I’m so sorry I made this thing higher than You. Forgive me.” Like a flash of light, Jesus’ anchor of hope is thrust into the water, breaking up the ties that bind you. You are freed and grab hold of your Anchor of Hope as it is hoisted from the churning seas. Clinging tightly to your Anchor, you see the storm rage on—the sky black as night, the seas swirling, the rains driving—but you are kept safe. Take your eyes off of Jesus, and you can get caught up in the waves of worry and the whirlpool of fear and anxiety, which drags you down into the black sea. Turn your heart back to Jesus, and hold tight to His hope and peace and He will lift you from the sea.
