So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. –1 Thessalonians 5:11 NLT
We decided to take our dog, Sunny, to a recent festival at an animal shelter. He had a blast. At the festival, there was a mini agility course. Sunny had never done an agility course before, and we thought it would be interesting to see how well he did. Well, he didn’t do the greatest. The dogs were given two chances to go around the course. While most dogs finished each round averaging twelve seconds, Sunny finished the first round in just over a minute. He wasn’t discouraged though, and when it was time to do his second round, people cheered him on, “Yay Sunny! You can do it!” And he did! Eighteen seconds was his time, and even the announcer said, “With a little encouragement, anything is possible. ’’It’s amazing what people can accomplish when we cheer them on especially in their less-than-finest moments. Believe in people. Encourage them to do their personal best—they are capable of achieving a goal when they put their best foot forward, and have a little fun too.
When you see people struggling, give them an encouraging word to help them move forward.
Pray that your words will be kind and uplifting, encouraging them to give each situation their best effort.
