Hustle No More

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? –Romans 8:32 NIV

In our self-made “#hustle” culture, it’s hard not to fall into the world’s rhythm of over-worked, over-scheduled, and over-busy. We often believe that a full schedule of work and social events equals a full bank account and a full social life, which equates to living our best life. If this is true, then why do we feel so exhausted and emotionally bankrupt? As Christians we ask: where is the abundant life Jesus promised us in John 10:10? Jesus promised abundant life through living a life that is counter-cultural. Abundant life through surrender, serving, rest, and worship. He promises that we are heirs to the most abundant and magnificent Kingdom of God. We can experience this Kingdom life now. We can reset our schedules, stop the hustle, and create space to give, serve, rest, and worship. In turn, we will experience an abundance of peace, joy, strength, and the riches of the eternal life to come!

Lord, please show me how I can create a practice of rest and worship.

Help me identify how I can give and serve You!
