In the Process

But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. –James 1:4 NKJV

Making homemade bread takes a lot of time. You have to knead, wait, knead, and then eventually bake. The aroma fills the house while it’s baking, and you can hardly wait to eat it. When it’s finally done, you still have to wait until it cools to cut it, but it’s so worth the wait.Have you ever prayed over a situation, waited for what seemed like an eternity for an answer, yet saw no change? Have you ever been discouraged because nothing seems to be happening? When yeast is rising, it stretches and enlarges the shape of the dough. It doesn’t look or smell like a delicious loaf of bread, but it’s in the process of becoming one. In the waiting period between our prayers and their fulfillment, we’re just like that lump of dough. Our faith is being stretched, and our character shaped. We’re in the process of becoming mature in Christ. When God’s work is perfected in you, the answers will come. You’ll have the aroma of His presence, and the wait will have been worth it. Let patience finish its work so that you may be mature, complete, lacking nothing.

prayer focuses

Be patient; God is in the waiting.

Let hope arise within you. Imagine how good life will taste when you’ve reached the fullness of God’s perfect timing.
