Just Wait

But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior; my God will hear me. –Micah 7:7 NIV

We live in such a chaotic, harried world. Many jump out of bed each morning, take a shower, get dressed, and grab a cup of the strongest coffee possible. We rush out of the house, get in the car, and drive as fast as we can to get to our destination. We are rushed about everything, even when we pray. And when we pray, we are in a rush for answers about what we prayed for. Our heavenly Father is just and faithful. He is attentive to our every word, plea, and cry. My friend, His heart is full of you and me, and He loves us so deeply. The prophet Micah tells us to “watch in hope for the Lord” and wait for God our Savior because He hears us. Let us slow down our pace just a tad. First thing in the morning spend time with God. Pour your heart out to Jesus and surrender all of your cares to Him. Let Him carry your burdens for you, and He will give you rest. So just wait and be patient, and the God of glory will meet your needs.

prayer focuses

Father, help me not to be so rushed so I can take time to have fellowship with You, my King.

Holy Spirit, help me surrender all my burdens to You and help me to be patient when I am waiting.
