So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith. –Galatians 3:26 NIV

A friend who worked in a ketchup factory once told me that the same ketchup went into all of their bottles; they only made one recipe. The only difference was in the labels applied to name brands, generics, and specific store brands. On the store shelves, customers selected the bottles based on their labels. Yet, the same ketchup was inside all of them.

In life, we often get labeled, with our worth and value determined by others, according to the labels they may have placed upon us long ago. But the Apostle Paul explains in Galatians 2:20 (NLT), “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” It is the same Christ who lives in each believer. “People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7 NIV). We must remember that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14 NIV). We are each a valuable, worthy, prize-winning recipe of love and talent. Christ has given us “Can Do” power as children of the King. We’ve been adopted into the family of God, and no label can ever trump that.
