Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. –1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT
Thankfulness should be a way of life for Christians, as we consider all that our Lord Jesus has done for us in our past, as well as the many ways He will help and guide us in the future. He left the comfort of Heaven to suffer and die on earth in order that we might live. We are truly blessed, and our Lord is worthy of our thanksgiving. Truly, “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17 NIV).
As we give thanks, our focus moves off of ourselves, off of our fleshly desires, and even off of the pain of current circumstances. The Apostle Paul demonstrated living thankfully when in the midst of being persecuted, he proclaimed, “Thanks be to God” (2 Corinthians 2:14 NIV). Give thanks that God is always in control and that we belong to Him. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28 NIV). So, rejoice and be glad. Praise the Lord!
Thank the Lord for every circumstance in your life, knowing that He will work all things for the good.
Thank the Lord that He is in control and that you are never forgotten.
