I will sing to the Lord as long as I live. I will praise my God to my last breath! –Psalm 104:33 NLT
Who doesn’t love to sing…in the shower, the car, sometimes at work regardless of your coworkers’ pleas to stop? Okay, so many of us are not the best of singers except for the help the acoustics in the bathroom give, in the car who cares how you sound, and your coworkers...well, their opinion is their own. Music has the magic of changing our mood. Depending on the song, it can make us more angry or anxious, can make us cry—especially when it pertains to a situation we are going through. Melodies have the power to uplift, give hope, and give an opportunity for praising God. Song is a form of worshipping and speaking to God. He doesn’t pay attention to whether your musical ability is good or bad. He is listening to your heartache, your anger, your cries, and your thanksgiving. Sometimes singing is the best way to express what we are feeling, and God hears nothing but the beautiful music bursting from our hearts. So belt it out; sing to the Lord and know He is singing with you...even if your coworkers aren’t.
Today, sing your prayer to God.
Whatever it is you’re feeling, just let it out in song. Learn the words to your favorite song and then sing it to the Lord. Let Him hear your joyful praise.
