Mighty God

O Lord, the God of our fathers, are You not God in the heavens? And are You not ruler over all the kingdoms of the nations? Power and might are in Your hand so that no one can stand against You. –2 Chronicles 20:6 NASB

A wide variety of influential and powerful people seem to be shaping and controlling the world around us; and as a result, we can feel powerless or filled with fear of the unknown. But as a believer, your security lies in the hope of Christmas, because the message of the manger (Isaiah 9:6 NIV) is the same now as it was thousands of years ago…“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor Mighty God.”Believers in Christ don’t need to fear the strength and might of any human. Though for a period, the rich and powerful may wield temporary power, true enduring authority lies only in the One who once and for all triumphed over death.Sin was no match for Him. Satan could not subdue Him. The grave could not hold Him.And that means that you can be assured and at rest, knowing that whatever you face today, individually or globally, all things are completely under the authority and power of your all-loving Mighty God, Jesus Christ.
