No Counterfeit

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. – John 1:14 ESV

When you’re shopping and you need to save a few pennies, you can buy generic products, as some are close to the name-brands, but some are not. By trial and error, you eventually find which is which. For everything that’s real, genuine, and true, there is a fake, a phony, and a fraud. It’s up to us to search for the truth and to know where that truth can be found. It’s also up to us to guard our hearts against deception because the counterfeit always looks appealing. What is truth? In John 18:38 Pilate asks this question. He, along with many people today, has no idea if one truth exists. Proverbs 21:2 (NIV) says, “A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.” Humankind has manufactured our own truth and ignores the One who IS the truth. What then is truth? John 14:6 (NIV) says it plainly, “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” Truth is found in Jesus Christ. He is Truth, the real, genuine Son of God

The world offers many versions of God.

Pray and seek out the one true God. The truth always lines up with God’s word, the Bible. Pray for understanding.
