Genesis 2:1-3; Psalm 150
We end where we began, in Genesis. The first thing God called “holy” was the seventh day or Sabbath. The Bible tells the story of Sabbath as a celebration of restoration. A day to rest, remember, and celebrate God’s work. God’s work is now making all things new, in this world and in you. It’s day 14, rest, remember, and celebrate! The Jewish people have a long history and rich culture of embracing celebration. Let’s listen in as the Psalmist sings a song of celebration: “Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heavens. Praise Him for His acts of power; praise Him for His surpassing greatness.”(Ps 150:1-2) Yes, praise Him indeed! For the past 14 days you have focused your attention fully on the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. How has God been making things new in you in the past 14 days? How has the Spirit spoken to you?
Now what?
Father, help us to deeply know and live in the fullness of the one WHO IS ABLE TO DO IMMEASURABLY MORE THAN ALL WE ASK OR IMAGINE, ACCORDING TO HIS POWER THAT IS AT WORK WITHIN US...
TO HIM BE GLORY IN THE CHURCH AND IN CHRIST JESUS THROUGHOUT ALL GENERATIONS, FOR EVER AND EVER! AMEN.
