And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. –Ephesians 2:6 NIV
What are you and I praising God for today? It can be for something as simple as the act of waking up or as complex as the healing of a deep physical or emotional wound. We need to praise God for deliverance from storms that are coming in life and for the ones we are currently facing. We ought to praise Him for hardships as well as for prosperity and provision.
Praising God is not merely the act of thanking Him for the good things that have happened. It is so much more! It is the expression of awe and wonder in knowing that no matter what hardships we face, we are children of God. “We are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory…our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Romans 8:17-18 NIV).
Praise be to God, for He has given us a heavenly home. The road might get a little bumpy in this world as we move towards it, but in God’s time, we will be there enjoying eternity with Him.
Today, as we walk outside, let’s look towards heaven and tell the angels that we’ll see them in a little while. But right now, we have some praising to do!
Father, help me to see beyond my circumstances to the place You have for me in Heaven.
Thank You, dear Lord Jesus, for the blessed assurance and eternal hope I now have because of the sacrifice You made for me.
