May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. –Psalm 19:14 NIV
On occasion, as I am walking my dog, I run into a sweet bicyclist whose body has matured far beyond his mind. With a big grin and a wave, he pulls his bicycle over and begins to tell me accounts of what I see as his brother’s love. His brother built him a bedroom. His brother took him to the bait shop so he could catch a snook. His brother got him this bike and makes sure he wears his helmet! This sweet soul speaks of his brother so much that I find myself wanting to follow him home and see the amazing man who cares so deeply and lovingly for him.
That leads me to wonder: when people leave my presence, are they awed by the One who cares so deeply for me? Have I conveyed how much I am loved, blessed, and provided for by my Heavenly Father? Do they know by my conversation that I have a Savior, Protector, and Lord who loves me so much that He willingly died so that I might live? Do they want a glimpse of my Father? Do they long to meet Him? I hope so.
Both you and I need to speak Jesus! We need to speak Jesus so much that others will long to meet the one who loves us so deeply.
Lord, help me to boldly speak of Your love to those I encounter throughout the day.
Holy Spirit, please help me to be conscious of whether I am speaking Jesus to those around me.
