Stand—Part 1

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. –Ephesians 6:13 NIV

When you become lackadaisical in taking your thoughts captive, the enemy is quick to recognize it. While you may still seek and hear God speaking to you, the enemy is also speaking to you.In your laziness, perhaps you’ve begun to listen to the enemy’s voice, too. The more you listen, the more the enemy’s lies become your thoughts; and before too long, you may find yourself too weak to stand. But God won’t give up on you. When you get real with yourself and with God, He will challenge you to cast off the lies. The armor of God is for standing. You are able to stand because Christ holds the victory. Because He is in you, you hold the position—the proper and appropriate place—of victory. If you’ve been half-hearted in taking your thoughts captive, if you’ve been entertaining the lies of the enemy—as true as they may sound—it’s time to get really real with God and then stand your ground. When you do, the enemy will flee from you.

prayer focuses

Thank God that He never abandons you.

Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you to take your thoughts captive to make them obedient to Christ.
