Standing Right

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. –Romans 5:1 NLT

Are we, individually, standing right with God? Nothing that we do can bring us into right standing with Him until we confess with our lips and truly believe in our hearts that Jesus Christ died on the cross for us. In Romans 10:9 (NLT), we are each promised, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Our Lord Jesus took on our sins, and He conquered death when He rose from the dead. “Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us” (Romans 8:34 NLT). We are in right standing only because of what our Almighty Savior has done and continues to do.

Pray Psalms 17:8 (NASB), “Keep me as the apple of your eye; Hide me in the shadow of Your wings.” Meditate on this verse today, knowing that you are so loved by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and that you are able to stand right because of Him. He has made a way for you and me to be with Him for eternity. Take joy in knowing that He is coming back for us!

Hide me, dear Lord, in the shadow of Your wings as I face challenges today.

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of salvation through Your Son, Jesus.
