Staying Faithful

But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness. –Psalm 86:15 NLT

How well do you face the daily trials of life? Besides the minor day-to-day annoyances, there may be times when you are feeling completely overwhelmed. Perhaps you were blindsided—unprepared and attacked from an unexpected position. You feel as though your prayers are not being answered. You are disappointed, losing control, and becoming afraid. What can you do in these situations? You must trust God—regardless of your feelings. Recognize He is in charge of all the circumstances in your life.

Things won’t always make sense on this side of Heaven. That’s why Proverbs 3:5 (NLT) tells you, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.” Jesus left you a Comforter—the Holy Spirit. Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring healing and restoration to your mind, spirit, and soul. You need grace and mercy that can only come from God. He wants you to trust Him in the middle of your deepest pain. Pour your heart out, and wait for His peace that surpasses all understanding. Stay faithful; He knows exactly what needs to be done.
