The Shepherd of our souls, Jesus, is very diligent in watching out for us at every moment. With great intensity, He follows our steps wherever we go. Jesus never loses sight of us, for we are the “apple of his eye” (Zechariah 2:8 NIV). In times of adversity and chaos, when we are despondent and do not know how to go on, all we need to do is call out to Him. He will reach out to guide us. He will lay us down in green pastures where we will experience peace and quietness in His presence. He will lead us to the deep, still waters of calmness and rest. 

The Lord our God is sufficient to meet our every need. So, there is no need for us to despair over our situations. In His Word, we are each reassured “for God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19 NIV). What an awesome God we have! Therefore, we must stop living in fear, for the Creator and Keeper of our lives is with us; and He will refresh our souls.
