Stress Less Living

Can any of you add a single hour to your life by worrying? –Matthew 6:27 GW

If you have been under a great deal of stress lately, here are a few steps you can take that will help guide you into a less anxious life.

S – Seek God with all your heart early in the morning. Entrust your day to Him.
T – Turn away from excess substances and turn to Christ for comfort.
R – Rest and relax in the assurance that God is on your side. A good night’s rest does wonders for your overall well-being.
E – Exercise your body, God’s vessel, for at least 30 minutes most days. Jesus journeyed many miles by foot.
S – Soothe your soul in solitude time with God. Quietness is good for your soul.
S – Smile as often as possible on a daily basis. It impacts you and those around you.
E – Eat nutritious meals to keep your body fueled. Drink plenty of water.
D – Decide to rid yourself of extra obligations that do not have God’s approval.

Don’t allow daily life to overwhelm you. God doesn’t want you to wear yourself out or worry yourself sick. He longs for you to relax in His grace and enjoy life.

God, teach me to trust You with my concerns. Reveal to me what needs to change so I’m not feeling so stressed.

Holy Spirit, help me to learn to slow down enough to enjoy some of the simple pleasures of life.
