Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…-Proverbs 3:5 NIV
Why should you have faith in what you can’t see? The simple answer is that seeing does not require faith. Hebrews 11:1 (ESV) says: “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Faith involves trust and hope. When Jesus rose from the dead and returned to the upper room, the apostle Thomas doubted that it was Him. It wasn’t until Thomas saw the actual scars that he believed. In John 20:29 (NIV), Jesus told him, “…Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”To walk in faith is to be quiet and to listen for the voice of your Abba Father. The sweet words of His Holy Spirit in your heart will provide direction, strength, and grace which was already paid in full for you by your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Why does our Lord require us to have faith in Him? It is a matter of love and trust. Have faith to live a life full of promise and joy—from this world to the next.
Father, help me to love and trust You more each day.
Father, help me to believe without seeing.
