For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it certainly will come and will not delay. –Habakkuk 2:3 NIV
We often confuse our job with our work. Our job is what we do, what we get paid for. Our work, on the other hand, is what we were born to do. The Father didn’t bring you into this world on a whim; you are not a mistake. You were planned before the foundation of the world was laid; there is a purpose for your life. You have been fitted with shoes only you were meant to fill. You can be fired, laid off, or downsized from your job, but your work can never be taken from you. This world needs what you can give, and someone desperately needs your touch on their lives. You have great wealth to share; it dwells deep within your soul.
Let your work overshadow everything you do; it pays a much greater salary than any job can. Love, encourage, forgive, and fulfill the destiny that you were created for. We see the fruit of a person like Billy Graham and are in awe because he was amazing. How many do you suppose were sent by God to inspire him along the way that we’ll never know about? Everyone has a purpose—find yours and enjoy.
Keep your perspective on what’s important. Your work should carry over into everything you do.
Wait on God’s timing; never give up looking for what you were born to do.
