Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. –Joshua 1:8 NIV
Stuff breaks, as nothing lasts forever, and we are left to determine what we should do. When we can’t figure out how to assemble or fix things, frustration can set in. There may seem to be a few parts missing or a few parts left over. Usually, as a last resort, we actually read the instructions or we watch a YouTube tutorial to complete the task.
At times, even areas of our lives may seem broken. We have an underlying feeling that something is not quite right. We try to figure it out ourselves, yet we still feel a constant discontent within. Maybe there is excess baggage we are carrying around. Or, perhaps, something is missing. We feel that we are unable to cope appropriately during such times.
Thankfully, God gave us a very thorough guide to help us navigate through times of uncertainty. The Bible is our ultimate resource for what to do when we don’t know what to do. Through it, we can ask the Holy Spirit to teach, explain, and bring understanding. We do not need to go it alone; we can read the instructions. We need to allow our Lord to come alongside us today as we pray, search His word, and seek the counsel of other believers for the answers!
Thank You, Lord, for Your written Word that has withstood centuries of time—and remains relevant today.
Holy Spirit, give me understanding as I read the Bible, knowing that the answers for many of my questions lie within its pages.
