Day 256: Watch! Listen! It's Awesome.

Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance. –Proverbs 1:5 NIV

It’s amazing what we can see and hear if we only watch and listen. While at the beach, I didn’t talk to anyone. Instead, I just observed. I saw sea gulls arguing and three manatee swimming near the shore. I was in awe of their size and gentleness. I saw the cutest little girl playing in the sand. Then there was an older man behind me giving sage advice to a much younger man. He was telling him of a time in his life when he’d lost his job, had two kids, and was within a month of losing everything. He told him of his fears, his stresses, and that he had taken any job he could find to provide for his family. The younger man said he didn’t know if he could take just any job. The older man said, “Son, it’s not about you. It’s about your family.” A wise man.Life is about relationships. Everyone longs for a relationship that makes life worth living. Without it, life has no substance. That desire comes from the Father, because we were created to be in relationship with Him. You’re not alone, for you were created by love, to be loved. Watch! Listen! He’s everywhere.

prayer focuses

Ask God to give you the strength and wisdom to listen more than you talk.

The Father longs to be in relationship with you. Thank Him for that opportunity to be loved so fully!
