What We Have

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. –Psalm 46:1 NIV

The first half of 2020 was a time of change from our normal routine—social distancing, isolating, and working from home. We have to keep our eyes on what really matters—God, family, friends, and people who are making a difference such as first responders, doctors, and nurses. Our virologists and infectious disease specialists have been working around the clock studying the virus and how best to treat it.This break in our normal routine has given us a gift—extra time to focus on what we have. We have a heavenly Father who is in control. He equips us to face each day with the power of His love, grace, and mercy. We also have the ability to pray for the sick, mourn with those who are grieving, and help support those who cannot support themselves. The days may feel uncertain, but we serve the God who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Suffering is a season, a difficult season for sure. But it has a beginning and an end. Let us use this time to show love to those who need it most.
