What’s Up, God?

For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. –Psalm 84:11 NLT

Have you ever wondered why God answers some prayers quickly and takes His time to respond to others? During prayer time you may have asked, “What’s up, God? Why aren’t You answering my prayers?”Dr. David Jeremiah of Turning Point states reasons why God holds back from answering prayers. He also brings to light the key to getting prayers answered.• When you pray, if the request is wrong God will say, “No.”• When you pray, if the timing is wrong God says, “Slow.”• When you pray, if you need to fix something in your life God says, “Grow.”• When the request is right, and the timing is right, and you are right, God says, “Go.”The next time you wonder why God’s slow in answering some of your prayers, or those of a loved one, you may want to consider the first three reasons listed above to unanswered prayers. God’s Word says, “Trust the Lord, and do good things. Live in the land, and practice being faithful. Be happy with the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Entrust your ways to the Lord. Trust him, and he will act on your behalf” (Psalm 37:3-5 GW).
