Who Are You Trusting?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. –Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV

"“Own understanding” means trusting your own knowledge based on your life’s experiences. So, who do you trust? Do you trust in your own knowledge or God’s knowledge?Trusting in your own knowledge can cause you to go down the wrong path and make poor decisions. When we lean on our own understanding, it is like we are traversing a path blindly that leads only in the wrong direction. In contrast, when we decide to trust His knowledge and lean on His purpose for our life, He takes care of us and leads us down a safe path. Here is a way to remember the meaning of the word LEAN:L-earn to trust God always.E-stablish the decision to walking with God no matter the circumstances.A-bandon your own understanding and adopt God’s understanding.N-ever go back to your own understanding once you choose to embrace His understanding."

prayer focuses

Thank You, Lord, for showing me Your understanding.

I decide to embrace it and lean into You. Lord, show me every day Your will and the path You want me to take. I choose to follow You no matter what I’m going through.
