Bill Gaither wrote a song titled, “The Longer I Serve Him.” The lyrics say, “The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows; the more that I love Him, more love He bestows. Each day is like Heaven, my heart overflows. The longer I serve Him, the sweeter He grows.” 

Think of the day you met your spouse or even a best friend. At first, you were just getting to know each other and learning to trust one another. As time went on, love bloomed, deepened, and grew sweeter. Our relationship with God is much like that. As you choose to spend the time with Him, go to Him in prayer, praise Him, and be obedient to Him, you are choosing a life that is overflowing with joy. 

These actions will bring about a deeper and sweeter relationship with God in which He wants nothing more than to shower you with love and gifts. 

Matthew 6:21 (ESV) states, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Give your heart to God and allow Him to be your treasure.
