You’re Chosen

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! –Psalm 139:16-17 NIV

When you look at a picture of yourself from many years ago, do you ever think about all that’s happened to you since that picture was taken? Have you ever looked at your innocent, young face and been saddened, knowing that you had no idea what you’d be going through later in life. Imagine, if at birth, we were given a birth certificate and a calendar of all the major events in our lives. Would you want to know what’s coming? We all face life one day at a time, and we never know when it will be our last. However, when we are born, all our days are written in His Book of Life. Everything we will ever do, say, or accomplish is already known by the Father. He planned in love for us before the foundation of the world was laid and before we were even a twinkle in our mother’s eye. Your life is important, and your influence is the key to others’ success. He who began a good work in you will finish it. Ephesians 1:4 (NIV) declares truth, “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight….”You’re chosen!

Every life has value, and every life counts.

You were not an accident; you were planned by God. You didn’t choose Him—He chose you. Remember to thank your heavenly Father for making you just as you are. The artist sees beauty where others see flaws. See yourself His way.
