You’re Made to Thrive

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot. –Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 NIV

Personal growth is cultivated in a nurturing and encouraging environment—whether the physical place is within a home, workplace, or church community. Everyone needs a healthy environment where they can grow, mature, blossom, and remain fruitful—no matter what stage of life they are currently in.Nearly everyone has heard the phrase, “Bloom where you’re planted!” However, it can be challenging to blossom when you’re not planted in a healthy, nurturing environment. You may even smirk when you hear, “April showers bring May flowers,” if you’ve been experiencing a prolonged season of stormy weather. In spite of the unfavorable soil and gloomy atmosphere, you have two options: 1) survive and thrive or 2) shrivel up and allow your life to fade aimlessly away.If you’re currently in an unhealthy environment, refuse to remain stuck there. Sometimes you have to be replanted somewhere else in order to reestablish healthy roots and blossom where God would have you. God created you to thrive, not merely survive. Allow Him to prune away and weed out whatever is not conducive to your overall growth—spiritually, emotionally, physically, and relationally. Be courageous and take the steps God is leading you to make in turning your environment into a healthy one.

prayer focuses

Pray that God will show you what has been holding you back from blooming where you’re currently planted.

Ask God to point out if you’re preventing someone from growing and flourishing into the person God would have them become.
