Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God. –Romans 15:7 NASB
God is glorified by our love for one another. As Christ, through His Holy Spirit, guides us in this world, He will receive us with love. When we affectionately receive one another, we are acting as Jesus did when He walked on this earth. We don’t always have to approve of everything someone does, but we can love them as they are. We are all going through something in order to get to somewhere else in life. While we all travel on different paths to get there, our ultimate goal should be to spend eternity with our Lord.In John 10:16, Jesus talks about having other sheep. He knew that He had to bring them into His Kingdom; and in reality, we are all one flock with one Shepherd. Psalm 133:1 (MSG) says, “How wonderful, how beautiful, when brothers and sisters get along!” We are to overcome our personal hang-ups or dislikes in order to build unity. By loving others as God does, we are following in Jesus’ footsteps.
Love is not saying, “I approve of everything you do."
Love is saying, “I accept you in spite of what you do.” Focus on Romans 5:8 (NKJV), “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
