And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. –2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV
Just as He did for the Israelites in Egypt, our Abba Father also gives us our daily provision of manna. For the Israelites, there was no need to store a huge supply of manna as it was made fresh every day. We too receive God’s manna in the form of His Word, and we can read more each day in order to nourish our soul just as the Israelites used the manna God provided to nourish their bodies. And just as fresh bread is created from tiny seeds of grain, we can also share and plant the seeds of God’s Word in others so that they may know the Source of our grace and kindness. It is the grace of our Father in Heaven, His spirit within us, the love of our Savior, and the bread of life, Jesus Christ, that helps us become nourished to the world. Every day we have the opportunity to show the love of Christ to others. We can help to satisfy the hungry hearts in this world, searching for their portion of love, acceptance, and peace. Let’s make it our calling today, and every day, to share what has been given to us and plant the seeds of God’s love in every person we encounter.
Father, thank You for the beautiful manna of provision that You provide me each day.
Lord, I pray that You put someone in my path today with whom I may share Your provision and grace.
