But God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. –Psalm 66:19 NIV
In this fast-paced world, it seems people don’t hear what you say to them. To get someone’s attention is no easy task. Their thoughts are so often somewhere else that you wonder why you even bothered to share your situation. Living in a self-centered culture can cause you frustration and hurt.
It is a very “me” world, but God is always listening. You can talk to God because He hears more than your words—He listens to your heart. In prayer, you don’t need to fear that you’ll be ignored. He created you, cares about you, and loves you. First John 5:14 (NIV) tells us, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.”
Because you belong to Him, you never have to question if He is listening. John 9:31 (NLT) says, “We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will.” The world around you may change and people will continue to disappoint you—but God’s love doesn’t. He is always listening—nothing is too small or too big to bring to Him.
Pray and ask God to heal your broken spirit from the hurt others may cause.
Praise God that you can share your concerns with Him because He cares and listens.
