We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf…. –Hebrews 6:19-20 NIV
A ship’s anchor secures a vessel to the sea’s floor, providing strength and support, keeping the ship from drifting. In a storm, the stability an anchor provides can keep a boat from smashing into a rocky shoreline. A ship needs an anchor. You need an anchor. The winds and waves of this life can rage against your mind, will, and emotions. God has equipped you with hope as an anchor for your soul. Hope means confident anticipation based on the certainty God has promised. He cannot lie, and He will fulfill His Word. Attach your soul to this hope: God has promised you eternal salvation through Jesus Christ. That salvation is now and forever. Today, you can be certain your anchor, the hope of your salvation, is secure. This anchor is embedded deeply in the very presence of God where Jesus went ahead and secured a place for you.
Ask God to infuse you with inner strength.
Ask God to help you move from a place of fear to a place of confident hope.
