And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. -Ezekiel 36:26 (NLT)
Do you have heart disease? Are your spiritual arteries clogged with hatred, bitterness, and/or un-forgiveness? Are you rejoicing in another’s misfortunes? If your answer to any of these questions is yes, it is time for a heart transplant. Many suffer from heart disease without realizing it. As children of God, you should strive to live in peace with all men. Our hearts should be moved with compassion for others when they are faced with difficulties. The Lord has entrusted His children with the responsibility of being the salt of the earth. We were called to be a light in darkness in a dying world, offering hope to the hopeless. When they see believers, laughing and making fun of their misfortunes, it turns them away from Christ.Every one of has a story, past or present, that speaks of a personal struggle. It is by God’s grace and His forgiveness that we are not lost and forgiven. It should be a priority for believers to keep a pure heart before the Lord and a clean conscience before men. Always, strive to be the better person. Ask the Lord today to help you extend grace to others. In order to receive His forgiveness, we must choose to extend it to others.
Pray that the Lord helps you to keep a pure heart towards Him.
Pray that you are able to see people through the eyes of compassion.
