Day 334: Befriend Yourself

Being confident of this, that he who began this good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. –Philippians 1:6 NIV

Many people think that Satan is their worst enemy. However, we’re often our own worst enemy. When we reject and dislike ourselves for whatever reason(s), it makes it difficult to accept and love others. What’s the cure? You need to befriend yourself in a healthy way. Let go of your inner critic and reprogram your mind to think favorably toward yourself. When you change the dialogue of your thought life from critical to constructive, you build yourself up rather than tear yourself down. Put an end to negative thinking and unsupportive chatter. From A to Z think, speak, respond, and be: Be Amazing. Befriend yourself. Be Changed. Be Daring. Be Encouraging. Be Faithful. Be Genuine. Be Honest. Be Involved. Be Joyful. Be Kindhearted. Be Lovable. Be Mindful. Be Nice. Be Optimistic. Be Polite. Be Quiet. Be Renewed. Be Sincere. Be Teachable. Be Unique. Be Victorious. Be Wise. Be eXceptional. Be Yielding. Be Zealous in all you do. Resolve to become all that God destined you to be. Let God’s Holy Spirit transform you into a new person, which starts within your thoughts. From the inside out, and from glory to glory, be reshaped, refashioned, and renewed into the image of Christ.

prayer focuses

Pray that God would give you the passion and discipline to continue spending time with Him each day.

Ask God how He would have you apply what you have heard from Him during this fasting season.

Barbara Alpert

Barbara was a wife, mother, and grandma who sought to love the LORD with all her heart, soul & strength. She has authored several books for adults and children. She has enjoyed mentoring other writers and seeing them turn their manuscripts into published masterpieces for God's glory.
