That very day Noah had gone into the boat with his wife and his sons…. With them in the boat were pairs of every kind of animal…. A male and female of each kind entered, just as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord closed the door behind them. –Genesis 7:13-14,16 NLT
Today’s Bible duo is Noah and God. Many know Noah was in the ark for an extended period of time during the deluge God sent upon earth. Everything outside the ark was wiped out. All that resided in the ark lived. After spending ample time in the ark, one could wonder if Noah thought God had forgotten him. Yet, 150 days later, the Bible says, “God remembered Noah…. So God made a wind blow over the earth, and the water started to go down” (Genesis 8:1 GW). Even after this happened, Noah waited months for God to soak up the floodwater. When all was gone, God opened the door of the ark and told Noah and his family to come out. They walked on dry land and repopulated the earth. This only occurred because Noah did his part, built the ark, and God did His part by preserving their lives. Afterward, God promised Noah such devastation would never occur again, seasons on earth would continue, and a rainbow would be a reminder of His promise between all living creatures. When you are weathering life storms, God promises to be your refuge. As you wait out the storm, trust the Lord and let Him be your anchor!
Praise and thank God for His promises to be with you and your loved ones during all seasons of life.
Ask God to reveal to you whom He would have you encourage and bless through a difficult season of life.
